Placer Valley is located on the east side of Highway 9, between Alma to the south and Hoosier Pass to the north.
Hoosier Pass marks the transition between the eastern and western sides of the great Continental Divide. As such, the water running through Placer Valley's Middle Fork South Platte River will eventually flow into the Gulf of Mexico. Rivers on the northern side of the pass flow west towards the Pacific.
From Hoosier Pass, it's only a 20 minute drive north to Breckenridge, a world-class skiing destination and resort town. Travelling south along Highway 9, residents will first drive through the small town of Alma, before coming to Fairplay, the largest town in Park County.
