No Winter Lasts Forever....
No Spring Skips its Turn!!
Hello Park County Neighbors,
Outside the window there is a bit of snow, bare branches, blue sky, meandering clouds, yet with all this you still feel old man winters fingers loosening his grip on the South Park area, as a matter of fact water is running on the top of the ice of Jefferson Creek behind the office. The snow pack is above average for this time of year and the forecast says we should have storms rolling through regularly to make spring nice and bright.
We are beginning to see some dates coming out for some of the summer gatherings and events in South Park. Don’t forget to pick up your copy of “Summer in the Park” when it comes out later this year put out by The Flume. This will have the most complete schedule of and publication available.
The Pike/San Isabel National Forest is nearly 3 Million acres So get out and explore the area, there are many trail to Hike, Bike, 4-Wheel, Fish, Camp, Hunt, many peaks over 14,000 feet, watch the wildlife and much much MORE!!! If you are not sure what to do come in and ask… we are all active with different things.
Restaurants in the area!! Be sure to check out the little kitchen in the Jefferson Store (American), excellent food and if it is not on the menu “Just Ask”. The Brown Burro (American/Mexican), Millonzis (Italian) & The South Park Steak house in Fairplay China Village (Chinese), Coney Island (Hot Dog Heaven) & Cut Throat Café (American) are GREAT choices in the Bailey area too
